Amongst Friends was created by two friends, Nicky Slimting Walker and Ben Ryan, who share a great passion for music, travel, food, and curating great moments. Together, they are building a global network of like-minded individuals; bringing together a circle of tastemakers, creatives, and professionals to connect, and create meaningful moments… all amongst friends
Nicky Slimting
Nicky 'Slimting' Walker is an award-winning filmmaker, DJ, and creative director.
Best known for creating the hit film franchise The Intent and The Intent 2 and the RTS-winning documentary series The Evolution of Black British Music, Nicky has been a driving force in shaping the UK’s music and film landscape for over two decades.
As a DJ, he has been a pioneer in the industry and has collaborated with some of the most influential figures across multiple genres, from Grime and Garage to UK Funky and Amapiano.
Nicky continues to bridge the gap between film, music, and culture.
Ben Ryan
Ben Ryan is the founder and managing director of London’s City Splash festival.
With over 20 years of experience, he has worked with major record labels like EMI and Virgin Records and delivered national and international music projects for organisations including the Mayor of London, Live Nation, and Global.
He is a Fellow of both the International Society of Performing Arts and the Royal Society of Arts, and holds an MA (with distinction) in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths, University of London.
